Tinkerbells Early Years Nursery

Tinkerbells Nursery has two settings in Sittingbourne, one at Iwade Village Hall and one at the Clock Tower Hall, Adisham Green in Church Milton. Both settings are Ofsted registered graded 'Good' and are led by an Early Years Professional and a team of qualified practitioners with a high staff ratio.

Tinkerbells accepts children from the age of 2 to 5 years, does not require a child to be toilet-trained and accepts childcare vouchers. Both settings are open during termtime Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday whilst the sessions vary slightly.

Parents and carers are encouraged to visit and experience the setting with their child before starting at Tinkerbells Nursery and meet their child's key person. Outdoor play is important at Tinkerbells and both settings have a secure garden and an allotment provision.

Every Child Matters

Tinkerbells believe that in order to achieve high quality the children should be at the heart of all that they do so support all children to achieve the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters framework (2004).

  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

Tinkerbells believe that if children have an enjoyable and stimulating beginning in their early years, this helps promote a good foundation for their learning for many years to come.

The Tinkerbells Environment

They provide a safe, secure and enriched environment to enable children to challenge their own abilities, inspire their imagination and natural curiosity. Tinkerbells do not expose children to unacceptable dangers but do not deprive them of the varied experiences required in early childhood in order to learn about challenge and risk.

Working in Partnership

Tinkerbells strongly believes in working in partnership with parents, and that these strong relationships are a vital part in providing the best care and development for each individual child.

Kent Quality Mark

The Tinkerbells setting in Iwade was re-awarded the Kent Quality Mark in 2013, which is a quality improvement scheme for private, voluntary and maintained early years provision that builds upon the strong practice that already exists in Kent. To gain the award, staff teams must show commitment to an ethos of reflective practice and review their work to see if they can raise the quality of their service and improve outcomes for pre-school children and their families.

What Parents Say ...

'Great home visit, made my son feel secure on his first day and has settled brilliantly.'

'The end of an era, I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have shown both my children who attended the setting. It truly is an inspirational setting providing a mass of activities whilst providing a secure environment. Tinkerbells will be sorely missed by my little family.'

'A massive thankyou to Donna and the team, you have made my little girl's time here really special, she is going to miss you all so much.'

'I feel Tinkerbells does absolutely everything they need to be an outstanding nursery, but it is all the things they do which they don’t have to which makes them an absolutely amazing setting which will be desperately missed by the parents as well as the children.'
